Exposures to Hazardous Drugs
Hazardous drugs are highly lethal that can create disasters and adversely affect the mankind. But these drugs are heavily used in the production of medicines because of their therapeutic capabilities. Exposures to hazardous drugs is very dangerous and can take place during all the steps of production of medicines as well as various other drug related activities like drug manufacture, handling, administration, storage, transport, distribution, disposal, waste assessment etc. This article is all about one of the major concern of all pharmaceutical experts (Exposures to hazardous drugs).
These perilous exposures are highly lethal and can cause innumerable health disorders. The short term or the temporary health hazards include skin and eye problems, allergies and various types of infections. The long term or the permanent health hazards include reproductive and respiratory disorders, chromosomal aberrations, spontaneous abortions, congenital malformations, sterility, and loss of eyesight, leukemia and cancer.
According to the reports published by the National Safety Council (NSC), the healthcare workers take 41% more leave because of some sorts of illness and other injuries as compared to all other workers that are engaged in other industries. To avoid these situations, safety equipments must be used properly in all the workplaces and all the safety measures must be implemented by the workers.
Antineoplastic and cytotoxic substances are the basic constituents of the perilous drugs. Both these agents are highly toxic and hence relevant care must be taken while handling and administering these drugs. Accidental leakages and spills can take place during any of the drug related activities and can contaminate the surroundings. These contaminations are highly disastrous. Therefore, pharmaceutical experts are focusing more and more on finding out proper alternatives of these noxious drugs.
Prehistoric Medicine
Very little is known about prehistoric medicine apart from fossils, implements and cave drawings. Ill-health shows its marks on human remains and broken bones were a common problem. It is thought that prehistoric humans did much like animals, licking wounds, resting when sick or having been injured, seeking heat when cold and coolness when hot.
Prehistoric Medicine and Religion
Divine intervention certainly preceded prehistoric medicine. Possible evidence shows that what we call holistic medicine today has always been a perhaps an instilled part of human nature. There seems to have always been a unanimous awareness of good and evil in all ancient cultures. From the dawn of recorded history, medicine and religion co-existed and by necessary inference, prehistoric medicine and religion.
Humanity likely blamed evil spirits for disease and pestilence. Petition to divine authorities included prayers and rituals in behalf of well-being. This is one of the earliest tenets of prehistoric medicine that has persisted even to this day. It is one that has been omitted from modern Western mainstream medicine, making it incomplete despite its scientific advances in human health.
A cave drawing shows a figure depicting a human body with the head of a deer possibly representing a shaman or medicine man. Such professionals in prehistoric medicine relied on human sacrifice, incantations and chanting to the Supreme Being(s) in behalf of the ailing person, infusing inanimate objects, such as a bones or sticks, with the evil spirit from the ill or diseased person, thus removing the evil spirit from that person.
Prehistoric Medicine and Agriculture
Man became aware of the healing properties of certain plants and incorporated that into his growing knowledge of medicine. Perhaps the scene of the Atomic garden as well as some Chinese pictographs that have survived from ancient times showing garden scenes in striking detail depicts prehistoric medicine at its dawning.
The setting broken limbs do not appear to have been practiced in prehistoric medicine though this may have been done using wooden splints. Herbs were one of these, as well as the religious incantations and prayers for the removal of evil spirits and petitions for well-being. The very little understanding of human anatomy probably came from the cutting open of human carcasses.
Fossil human skulls with holes bored or ground out of them have been found, some of these are quite large. There is evidence that some of these unfortunate souls survived this ordeal. This process is known as trepanning and is thought to have been done to release evil spirits from the body. Cave paintings depict the relieving pressure from migraine headaches, seizures and mental disorders. The portion of bone taken from the skull is said to have been worn as an amulet for warding off evil spirits. Albeit there may have been some medical significance for this practice.
Prehistoric Medicine Contributions to Modern and Alternative Medicine
Online Doctor, Is This the Future of Healthcare?
What is the future for an Online Doctor? I believe the future is looking very rosy for this form of internet based healthcare and education. In the poor financial climate in which we all live, countries with private health care as primary provider, mean many are unable to afford the expensive policies offered. Turning to alternatives, people can certainly save a lot of money by visiting an internet doctor. Some look for a free Online Doctor where the expense of the consultation is normally met through advertising, but even healthcare websites that charge are generally cheaper options.
Are online doctors a good thing? I believe the answer is yes! An internet doctor provides value for money as well as convenience and is usually available 24/7. In situations where access to a doctor is difficult or not possible then they’re definitely a good option.
Does an Online Doctor work for everyone? At present, I believe the answer is No. Why? Because a consultation is not just about the history of a complaint, it is the examination, investigation and treatment of the individual too. At present, the main reliance is on the history of the complaint alone in most cases. However, 70% of diagnosis can come from the history so two-thirds of visitors will obtain an appropriate diagnosis and help. However, examination is mainly limited to webcam technology or photos. A full examination is not possible at this stage although with advancing technologies I believe this will change. Treatment via online prescription is currently limited to quite basic conditions, but in time this will change. As more and more people seek this effective method of health care delivery new mechanisms will be put in place to deal with these issues.
Surgical and Emergency health care will always be the remit of a hospital, but more family doctor related health care will become internet based and there are now family practices already doing so. When cost-effective healthcare systems are looked at, an Online Doctor healthcare system will be an attractive mode of delivery. This may not be to everyone’s taste, but for busy internet savvy individuals this may well become their preferred method of healthcare delivery and one that will become economically driven too.
Best Way to Take Nutrients on Flax Seed on Candida Diet!
The question is that with the flax seeds that is ground up, is it just as good to take the omega oils? They have flax in them. Someone takes the Omega 3-6-9 in liquid form, UDOS oil is the brand.
You have to know, within 48 hours after grinding the flax seed it loses nutrients. I grind fresh every day. I know you can buy some that are already ground that you keep in the fridge – just don’t know how ‘nutrient rich’ they are.
UDO’s oil is very good – and so is bar leans’ Flax oil. They should have a date stamp on the side of the box (or bottle) when you buy them so it tells you how fresh they are. The oil will last longer than the freshly ground seed in the fridge.
The seed is so loaded with nutrients though, that I wouldn’t personally be without it – as well as what it does for the colon – the oil is great but will not have the fiber in it.
A friend of mine says her doctor told her to toss the “already ground” seed she had purchased – he said it is rancid after 48 hours, even in the refrigerator. She just bought flax seeds from a site and bought a grinder (not too expensive) and grind every morning 3-4 Tables.
Now flax seeds are so small. If you eat the flax seeds whole they will ‘pass’ in your stool. If you cook them you will lose a lot of the nutrients, though they may be tasty in a hot cereal. The best way to get all the nutrients is to freshly grind them daily and eat them. You will never be the same!
